Today’s Men's Ministry of Shiloh Baptist Church of Waukegan, was started in June 2006 as a continuum of the Deacon’s training. We are currently under the Ministry of Masterbuilder (1 Corinthian 3:10) and our future is to become active servants in the church (volunteering or working on tasks within the church) while still studying the word (John 15:15-27).
The focus is to provide the men of Shiloh Baptist Church of Waukegan with the foundation of Discipleship (Matthew 4:18-25). Through discipleship training we discover our gifts and then learn how to put them in play at home, in the Church, and within our communities (John 13:2-16).
The original core team of Pastor Walstone E. Francis, (first moderator), Minister Marcus Burnett, (next moderator), Deacon Robert Brown and Deacon Shawn Holmes, (current moderators), Deacon William Peete, Deacon Charles Martin, and Deacon Thomas Johnson, worked together to create purpose, vision, and mission for this ministry.
The Ministry of Men has blessed the church by organizing or assisting:
Musical tribute for Min. Marcus Burnett’s medical needs,
2008 Evangelistic Ministry - Crusade for Christ,
2009 North Baptist Ministers’ Alliance Fall Revival,
Mentorship at O'Plaine Middle School,
Tutoring at Lake County Jail,
and currently working with Regina Presley in making Shiloh Baptist Church of Waukegan a PADS site.
A key component of the Ministry of Men is our reading curriculum:
Previously Man in the Mirror – Patrick Morley
A Man’s Guide to the Spiritual Disciplines – Patrick Morley
Currently Design for Discipleship – J. Dwight Pentecost
We encourage all men (Luke 10:1-20), especially those of Shiloh, to come on Tuesday, from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm, to learn, laugh, cry, pray, listen, and praise GOD for leading us to become what HE has commanded of Men of GOD!!!!
